Elementary Building Project

Ipswich Educators Association agrees with the School Committee in that there must be something done to address the aging of our elementary buildings. In the fall of 2022 the IEA published a School Building Project Statement. The School Committee subsequently included the IEA statement in the district’s application to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA). In addition, the IEA offered to partner with the School Committee and provide a member of the IEA as an appointed liaison during the building project.

In December 2024, Ipswich was invited into the MSBA building process. A School Building Committee was formed and includes a variety of stakeholders. A teacher representative was sought out from both Winthrop and Doyon. This Committee will remain intact throughout the process, holding public meetings and forums in accordance with the timeline and process outlined by the MSBA.

School Building Committee Meetings are held in meeting room A at Town Hall and can be seen live (at one of these links Edu live ICAM or Govt live ICAM) or recorded on ICAM’s website. The files they look at during the meeting and all other documents associated with this MSBA project are available here.
